Dallas Deputy Mayor Takes His Anti-Pant Sagging Campaign National

Dallas' deputy mayor, Dwaine Caraway, who has been on a crusade against pant sagging as of late, is trying to take is message national, with an upcoming appearance on "Dr. Phil."

The Deputy Mayor Pro Tem has been pushing the sagging pants issue since May when he was elected, despite the City Council not taking action on the issue.

Following cities such as Atlanta and Baltimore who have also attempted their own bans, Caraway attempted to pass an ordinance banning it on Dallas streets, but a quick intervention by the city attorney's office and discussion about constitutionality put his plan on the back burner.

So instead of legally forcing dress guidelines, he began a local PR campaign, posting billboards around the city the words "Pullem' Up!" written in bold letters, accompanied a cartoon drawing of a kid sagging his pants so low that his boxer shorts hang out (see "Dallas Targets Sagging Pants Via Ad Billboards).

According to the Dallas Morning News, Caraway will be in Los Angeles this week for a taping of the "Dr. Phil Show," where he will speak further on his quest.

Although Caraway confirmed the taping with the paper, he is not sure when it is expected to air.

Yeah....this shit don't make no sense....I think it looks like shit when people wear their pants all the way to their knees....but you can't tell them that they 'can't' do it...then you have to tell the women how short their skirts are 'allowed' to be....or how much cleavage they are 'allowed' to show....you can't control all this stuff....
