T.I.’s Lawyers Ask Judge To Let Rapper Host Thanksgiving

T.I.’s lawyers asked a federal judge today (November 6) to let the rapper host Thanksgiving at his Atlanta home.

As reported earlier, T.I. was arrested on October 13th for trying to purchase a machine gun and two silencers from his bodyguard. He would be released on $ 3million bond two weeks later and was put under house arrest until his trial.

As part of the conditions of his release, T.I. was to live with his girlfriend and children in his Jonesboro home and was not allowed to leave the residence or have any visitors without the court’s approval.

According to The Associated Press, T.I.’s lawyers gave the judge a list of the rapper’s family members to approve to visit their client’s house for Thanksgiving on November 22 from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., under the supervision of a current monitoring service.

T.I. also asked the judge to allow his housekeeping workers to have access to his house to maintain it.

T.I. has been indicted on charges of possessing unregistered machine guns and silencers; unlawfully possessing machine guns; and of being a convicted felon in possession of firearms.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The rapper faces five or more years behind bars, if convicted.

/\/\/\ What people don't understand is that the bodyguard had been working for the feds before T.I. actually got arrested, so it's not like it's his word that the case is built on. He was wearing a wire and calling T.I. from tapped phones so the feds already have Tip on tape discussing the transaction. Even if the bodyguard doesn't testify, the case is already open & shut. Something happening to the bodyguard is actually the worst thing that could happen to Tip at this point because he would then be charged with witness tampering, which, in a fed case, is even more serious than the gun charges. It doesn't matter if they could prove that Tip had anything to do with it, they would charge him and probably make it stick. The feds don't play... they dont charge you unless they know they've got you and they do not take witness tampering lightly. If they didn't protect the snitches... people wouldn't be as open to the idea of snitching in the future.
