11/06/07 - Update: Diddy Wont Be Facing Charges For Scuffle Over Woman
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will not be facing any charges from a brawl with one his acquaintances at an after party in New York last month.
As reported earlier, Steven Acevedo accused Diddy of punching him twice in the faceafter they got into an argument over a woman outside the Kiosk store in Manhattan on October 13th. Lawyers representing both men claimed that the two were trying to settle the matter out of court but they had no power to stop the State of New York from pursuing criminal prosecution against Diddy. Diddy’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, today (November 6) revealed to TMZ that the Manhattan D.A. will not be charging his client. “I've been informed by the Manhattan District Attorney's office that after a thorough investigation, they have made a decision not to authorize any arrests in connection with the incident involving Mr. Combs and Acevado on October 13,” Brafman said via a statement. “I want to commend the D.A.'s office and the New York City Police Department for conducting a thorough and very fair investigation into this incident and not allowing this private disagreement between two acquaintances to turn into a criminal charge.” source-sixshot
