The Roots To Release New Album April 29
Posted: 11/06/2007 The Roots will release their new album "Rising Down" April 29, their second release on Def Jam Records. The album's title is inspired by a literary piece called "Rising Up and Rising Down" by William T. Vollmann. Recording on the album is said to be completed although final details are currently under wraps. Questlove spoke to Billboard.com earlier this year about the release: "We are using a lot of synthesizer, but I don't know if I could call this the electronic album or not," Thompson says. "Pretty much five or six songs are done, and four of them are synth-heavy...I know somehow I'm going to find the common thread of all this stuff," Thompson offers. "I don't know what to call it, but it's something." "Rising Down" is the group's 8th full length release. Source-hhnlive
