Doug "Does Decaydance" In Stores November 20th

Decaydance Records has announced the upcoming release of DOUG "DOES DECAYDANCE," the debut album from manager/musician Doug Neumann. The collection - set to land on November 20th - features unique renditions of songs originally performed by such Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen artists as Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Gym Class Heroes, and others.

Known far and wide as "Uncle Doug," Neumann is both General Manager at Crush Music Management and a Berklee College of Music-educated guitarist. "DOES DECAYDANCE" sees Neumann crafting a 12-song homage to the Decaydance artists he has grown to love (and envy) over his years at Crush. Blending the Rat Pack and punk rock, the album features jazz arrangements of songs from each of the label's artists, complete with horns, drums, bass, piano, and Doug's own guitar and vocals.

Among its highlights are swinging covers of such classic tracks as Fall Out Boy's "Dance, Dance," Panic! At The Disco's "Time To Dance," and Cobra Starship's "Bring It (Snakes On A Plane)." Other Decaydance artists covered include The Hush Sound and The Academy Is..., whose bassist Adam T Siska hails Neumann as "a gentleman, a genius, and a musical revolutionary. But that is not all. Doug represents all that is pure and righteous in music today. This record will blow your mind and capture your heart by the time it hits the first chorus."

Siska's fellow labelmates agree, including P@TD lyricist/lead guitarist Ryan Ross, who calls Neumann "the best voice in the last 30 years."

"Doug has always been like the cartoonish older brother I never had," adds Cobra Starship mainman Gabe Saporta, "fuzzy, cuddly, and always getting himself into zany situations. But little did I know he could shred. Until one day we were at karaoke and he belted out 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' like it was nobody's business!" Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy adds, "I had never heard this record. But this dude had me when his shirt came off; the voice he belted out was just the icing on top of hot man cake."

Travis McCoy, with Gym Class Heroes, sums it up: "Doug is the perfect example of what happens when you quit your day job and follow your fucking dreams...but we all know dreams aren't real."
