Black Eyed Peas Hold Benefit Concert for Mexican Youth

The Black Eyed Peas played a special benefit concert in Mexico City on Friday (September 28) to raise money for underprivileged Mexican children. According to the Associated Press, proceeds from the show will help fund educational programs for some 1,500 children. “It feels good to be able to help the youth because at one point in time we were teenagers that loved getting involved with the arts and there wasn’t really that many programs in East L.A., where I’m from,” said group member will.i.am during a news conference prior to the concert at Mexico City’s National Auditorium. The group also shared plans to work with a number of Latino artists in the near future including Shakira, Mana, Joan Sebastian, Alejandro Fernandez, Molotov or Los Tigres del Norte.
