08/27/07 - Cupid Sets Guiness World Record In Atlanta

Atlantic Records artist Cupid set a world record on Saturday (Aug. 25) for the LARGEST LINE DANCE IN THE WORLD as over 17,000 people did the “Cupid Shuffle” for eight minutes at the Ebony Black Family Reunion in ATLANTA, GA.

“Setting this record was an amazing experience,” said CUPID, “but I’m not stopping until I get the President to do the Shuffle!”

While “Cupid Shuffle” continues to make moves up the Urban charts and looks to jump into the Top 50 on the Pop chart in the coming weeks, CUPID has nabbed Danity Kane songstress Aubrey O’Day to add a little extra flavor to his next single, “Do Yo Dance,” which will go to radio shortly.

In the meantime, CUPID continues to bring his live show to fans across the country. “I grew up singing in the church and taught myself to play the piano so being a touring artist is really important to me,” said CUPID. “I don’t want to be ‘neo-soul’ or ‘classic R&B’ or anything like that. I’m just a musician that makes a lot of fun music. I never want to close the door on anything. People ask me, ‘What’s ‘Cupid Shuffle,’ is it R&B, is it pop?’ I’m like, ‘It’s just a good song.’ And at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.”

Cupid's Atlantic Records debut, Time For A Change, will be released on September 11.
