Lady Sovereign Ready To Take Short Break To Live A 'Normal Life'

After touring extensively for the past two years in support of her U.S. Def Jam debut, Public Warning, British grime queen, Lady Sovereign, feels it's time to move on.

During a performance in Santa Barbara recently, the self-proclaimed "hip-hop midget" spoke her mind like she usually does, reports a journalist from News Day, and says she over her American debut and ready to get on with her "normal life."

"I love the album I put out, but I'm over it," Lady Sov told the audience while opening for Gwen Stefani. "I'm over it. I'm bored of performing it. That's just myself talking. I know people like it. But I've come to the end of it.

"For the past two years, all I've been doing is touring and doing shows, "I want to buy a house. Get my driver's license. All that...," the 21-year-old rapper continued.

Taking a break isn't the only thing on her mind though. After experiencing life on the road, she says she's inspired to begin recording -- her next album that is.

"I'm going to make my album, finally," Lady Sov said. "It's all I want to do for the next four months. I've been thinking about it for a long time and being on tour has really inspired me and stuff. It's gonna be good. I've already got some exciting things that I can't talk about yet."

With her final performance coming soon, the rapper will get her wish. Lady Sov is set to make her final U.S. appearance during New York's Spiegelworld, a festival that runs through September, where she will be the headlining act during the festival's opening night on Saturday (July 7).

The event will take place at the South Street Seaport, Pier 17, at 11 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $30 through Ticket Central at 212-279-4200 or TicketCentral.com.
