The Roots To Headline Inaugural VH1 Hip-Hop Honors Tour
Posted: 07/06/2007 The Roots will headline the inaugural edition of the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors Tour kicking off September 13th in San Francisco. The tour is named after the VH1 awards show of the same name which honors Hip-Hop legends during a televised ceremony. Opening for The Roots on the tour will be Big Daddy Kane and MC Lyte. The tour runs from Sept. 13th in San Francisco and winds down Oct. 5th at New York's Nokia Theatre. The Roots are currently in the studio working on their tenth album called "Rising Down". “For this record, I’ll say the prominent instrument is the synthesizer, even though it’s the same instrumentation,” ?uestlove revealed. “Kamal’s utilizing more actual keyboards and synth stuff than he is the Fender Rhodes. I will call this the synth record. But thematically we still don’t know where we’re going.” Source-hnnlive
