Little X Talks R. Kelly/Usher Video, "Great to See These 2 Come Together & Put Their Egos Aside"

R&B heavyweights R. Kelly and Usher recently teamed up with director Little X to bring to life their duet "Same Girl." The popular music video director spoke with SOHH exclusively about the two joining forces for the rare collaboration.

"Rob [R. Kelly] always has a video in mind before he makes it. He's not one of those guys who expects the director to just come up with the concept. He cares, he knows what he's looking for," said X, who is currently developing a new flick for MTV Films. "He makes movies. We've done videos in the past and there's been big performances and some narratives but with guys like Rob and Usher, everything is iconic."

"Same Girl," originally recorded by Atlanta quartet Nephu, is the second single from Double Up, Kelly's latest album. On the track, the two find themselves messing around with the same girl from Usher's Atlanta hood.

Although X was very careful not to give away the video's special ending that isn't mentioned in the song, he was sure to attest that there was no conflict between the two kings.

"It was great to see these two dynamic performers come together, put their egos aside, and make good quality music. There were no egos flying, no entourage beef, none of that," said X, who assures fans they will be entertained by this milestone video.

"Same Girl" is set to premiere on BET tomorrow (June 19)

Double Up, which has already attained gold status, is currently in stores.
