Capone-N-Noreago to hit the studio next month

Queens-based rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga released their debut album, The War Report, in 1997. The duo released their sophomore project, The Reunion, in 2000 on Tommy Boy Records but following a label change to Def Jam Records, the group decided to go on hiatus when their third album was shelved. According to group member NORE, the duo will reconvene next month for two weeks to complete their third album.

The rapper told MTV.com, "It looks like the C-N-N thing is gonna happen. At first it seemed straight on, then it was a little shaky in the middle; now it seems like it's right. So we're gonna drop two albums this year, C-N-N and the N.O.R.E. project."

NORE explained how he and Capone were able to work out their differences. He said, "It was really like we was doing separate things. Out of sight, out of mind. The more you do separate things, the more you grow apart. So we sat down and was like, 'Let's do this thing. The people are begging for it. It's in high demand.'... We're starting the album in the middle of June and by the end of June we'll be done. I work pretty fast. I already picked the beats. So we're going to record it together and in two weeks we'll be done. I wanna keep it gutter. I wanna keep it straight street, but I do wanna have one single."

In related news, NORE will release his new solo album, Global Warming 11368, this summer. The first single from the project is "Dear Noriega," a song NORE created as letter to his namesake, Manuel Noriega. The rapper went by the name Noreaga until he changed it to NORE a few years ago.

Like many of the previous comments, I can’t genuinely wait to hear some of Capone and N.O.R.E.’s new material, ‘The War Report’ was a sick album, period. I’ll be honest, their not the greatest of lyricists, but in the end they do make real good, gritty, hood Hip Hop which many a person can relate to. At least they are emulating truthfully what happens in their personal neighbourhoods and what not i.e. their real, no bullshit artists, and I definitely respect that. All the best to them, I hope they can create some good music and move a couple of units also.
