This March, Tennessee rap pioneers 8Ball & MJG dropped their tenth album Ridin High via Bad Boy South. Now the duo are gearing up for the week-long unveiling of their 20 minute mini-movie "Ride Out," composed of 4 music videos so explicit they are premiering straight to the web.

In this SOHH exclusive, 8ball speaks on the Don Imus controversy and how it may affect the "Ride Out" premiere this week.

The 4 videos that make up "Ride Out" tell a story when played sequentially; the first, "Hickory Dickory Dock," captures the duo at a strip club; in the second, "Get Low," the club is robbed; the 3rd, "Take It Off," follows their escape and "Stand Up," is the final sequence featuring cameos by Bobby Valentino and David Banner.

"It was kind of a mutual thing between us, the director and everybody at the label," 8ball told SOHH, of the decision to create a straight to web mini-movie. "We was trying to do like four underground videos. We had different people turning in different treatments then the one cat [Director Edwin Decena] came with one treatment that was all the videos together like a little movie, and that s**t was just perfect. We kinda tweaked things here and there and made it how we wanted it to be and came out with it."

"Hickory Dickory Dock," the first in the series of four videos, will premiere on SOHH today (May 7). Set in a strip club, the highly explicit video offers a generous view of scantily clad women, opening the door for further debate surrounding misogyny in hip-hop.

Since the Don Imus controversy, rap music has been under a magnifying glass, with many leaders in the black community calling for an end to explicit and degrading content. With images of nearly nude and gyrating women "Hickory Dickory Dock" falls within the spectrum of content currently under attack, but 8Ball does not see anything wrong with the video.

"I don't think we got nothin' to do [with] that s**t,"8Ball said of the Imus controversy. "We in the strip club, what we s'posed to do? There shouldn't be no controversy with what we done. My honest opinion is that Imus is an old white dude, he said a statement, he got attacked by the black community, so now all white dudes is finna attack the black community, the hip-hop community."

Rap- they look at that as being our s**t -and they gonna attack anything we do, or say that it's wrong or we degrading women or all that s**t, but this s**t ain't nothing but music and movies and entertainment," 8Ball continued. "Imus is a f**kin' shock jock and he's supposed to get on TV and say crazy s**t to get attention. I'm not trippin, I'm just sayin, we shouldn't have no kind of backlash."

8Ball also told SOHH he expects the "Ride Out" mini-movie to trigger a movement of straight-to-web explicit hip-hop videos.

"I think we are finna kinda start something. I think a lot of rappers will follow through when this s**t goes public, cats with bigger budgets than we got gonna come with more dirtier s**t than we came with, that's what I think," 8Ball said. "It's straight for the internet, you ain't gott click on if you don't want to look at it."
