04/24/07 - M1 Talks About Snitching on Fox News
M1 of Dead Prez was freatured on Fox News with Neil Cavuto recently, and discussed snitching, much like Cam'Ron's recent go on 60 Minutes.
When asked whether or not Cam'Ron should be fired for saying that he would not turn a serial killer in to the police: "Of course not. That's not even an issue...especially if you're upholding the code of the street." On the causes of unrest in the black community: "The fear that we walk around with is totally involved in the war that's created in our community - the war on drugs... It's the war on terror, the war on poverty that really has this blue steel ring around our community that creates this atmosphere of fear." On black youth being killed in the ghetto: "When you're talking about who gets murdered in our community, you can bring up the names of Sean Bell, you can bring up the name of Antwan Cedric...this is why we say no snitchin', because we know the policy of the police is not to protect us." When asked if he would report a murderer living in his own building, M1 replied: "I think it's the code.
