04/24/07 - Brandy Leaves "America's Got Talent"

NBC has confirmed that Sharon Osbourne will replace R&B singer Brandy as a judge on the popular reality show "America's Got Talent."

Osbourne, who recently concluded a success run on MTV with the reality series "The Osbournes," will join David Hasselhoff and Piers Morgan on the judges panel.

Despite public belief, it was Brandy's decision to leave the show.

"Brandy has enjoyed her association with the program. However, she felt she couldn't give the new season the attention and commitment it deserved," said a statement issued by the Grammy winner's publicist.

As previously reported on SOHH, California Highway Patrol found that Brandy was responsible for the death of Awatef Aboudihaj when she rear-ended the mother of two on the San Diego freeway in Los Angeles on December 30, 2006.

Brandy's statement did not indicate whether her legal woes led to her decision.
