03/27/07 - 50 Cent Threatened To Sue A Rival's Lawyer For Implicating Him

March 27, 2007 -- Rapper 50 Cent yesterday threatened to sue a rival's lawyer for implicating him in the senseless smackdown of a 14-year-old boy outside Fitty's Manhattan office.

The rapper let his own attorney do the talking with a legal missive as intimidating as any street-corner shakedown.

Fitty was angered over accusations that he told rapper Tony Yayo to rough up a kid outside his office last week because the boy was wearing a sweatshirt promoting a rival company.

The victim turned out to be the son of that company's top man, Jimmy Rosemond, known in the industry as "The Henchman."

Rosemond's lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, said 50 Cent sicced his crew on the kid.

Yayo was arrested and charged with felony assault and endangering the welfare of a child, but 50 Cent, according to his lawyer, was no where near the scene.

"I am outraged, as is my client, by the statement from Jeffrey Lichtman . . .," said 50's lawyer, Benjamin Brafman.

"We can prove beyond question that 50 was not even in New York state at the time of the incident. And unless there is a complete retraction and apology from Mr. Lichtman, it is our intention to sue him for defamation."

"I retract nothing," struck back Lichtman.

"I believe, in good faith that the statement about 50 Cent's involvement . . . is credible and accurate and will be fully vindicated at trial," he said. "If Brafman and his client want to sue me, I say bring it on."
