Nas, Public Enemy join Rock the Bells lineup; U.K. visa problem may halt Snoop/Diddy tour.

Nas. Public Enemy, the Roots, Mos Def, EPMD, Cypress Hill and Pharoahe Monch are among the artists who have joined the lineup for the 2007 Rock the Bells tour, featuring previously announced headliners Rage Against the Machine and Wu-Tang Clan. Tickets go on sale Saturday for shows at New York's Randall's Island (July 28), San Bernardino, California's NOS Events Center (August 11) and San Francisco's McCovey's Parking Lot (August 18). Organizers also announced Monday (March 26) that Rock the Bells will extend its run with 15 more shows, featuring co-headliners Nas and Wu-Tang Clan — but not Rage. Snoop Dogg and Diddy's historic tour may be coming to an end due to visa problems. Snoop Dogg was denied a visa to enter Britain for the European tour due to his arrest last year at London's Heathrow Airport for causing a disturbance, Reuters reported. The latest stop on Diddy and Snoop's One Love Peace Tour is slated for Tuesday at London's Wembley Arena, and Snoop's rep said Saturday that he's still working to get the paperwork in order. Snoop spoke with MTV International on Sunday, and said he was "shocked" by the decision. "I'm not sure what's going on right now. I've been denied entry into the U.K. I don't know why. I'm here to perform and give people what they want. To be a peace figure. Me and Puffy come from a background where, with the East Coast and the West Coast, there were a lot of diferences in the hip-hop community. But now we want to go around the world and show postive examples in the U.K." Britain's Home Office would not comment, but said that the government had the power to refuse entrance to individuals whose presence in the country would "not be conducive to the public good." ...

Rapper DG Yola was shot in a failed robbery attempt while his vehicle was stopped at a red light in Atlanta on Saturday night; the bullet went through one cheek and out the other. Yola is currently recovering at an Atlanta hospital, where doctors are optimistic that he will make a full recovery. "He is already up and about and writing. Yola ain't gonna let up," his family said in a statement. "We respectfully request privacy and appreciate the well wishes and prayers of Yola's fans during this time." Yola's debut album, Gutta World, is scheduled to be released on Power Hittas/Atlantic in June. ...

Elton John celebrated his 60th birthday Sunday night by extending a Madison Square Garden record with his 60th concert at the New York arena. John was introduced by former President Bill Clinton, who noted the efforts of the singer's foundation to fight HIV/AIDS. The show also featured a round of "Happy Birthday" sung onstage by John's longtime songwriting partner Bernie Taupin along with comedians Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg. John also paid tribute to late Beatles singer John Lennon, recalling that Lennon joined him onstage at MSG in November 1974 for what would be Lennon's last concert appearance.
