01/19/07 - Mariah Carey & Janet Jackson Top "Forbes' Richest Woman" List

Forbes magazine recently released their "20 Richest Women in Entertainment" list, comprised of the wealthiest female musicians, actresses and writers in the business.

Oprah Winfrey headed up Forbes' list, with an approximate net worth of $1.5 billion. R&B chanteuses Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson followed shortly behind in the 6th and 7th spots, with Mariah raking in an estimated $225 million and Janet earning around $150 million. The two were just barely edged out by pop singers, Madonna - who grabbed the number 4 spot - and Celine Dion who was ranked 5th. Jennifer Lopez also garnered a mention in the top ten - landing in 9th place on the Forbes list.

Forbes' "20 Richest Women in Entertainment" will also make it to television this weekend. E! Entertainment is planning to air a one-hour special dedicated to the money making women on January 20 at 6 p.m. EST.
