Busta Rhymes remains accused of assault. But a judge says the rapper won't be charged with possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors say a machete was found in the rear seat pocket of an SUV that Rhymes was riding in when he was arrested. But the criminal court judge in New York rejected the request for the additional charge.

The performer was arrested in August after the AmsterJam Music Festival and accused of spitting in a man's car.

The rapper who was born Trevor Smith said little in the courtroom today, pausing only to tell the media sketch artists that he loves it when they make him look good.

Outside, Rhymes was crowded by photographers, camera crews and reporters, before he climbed into a black SUV and away from the crush.
