Spider Loc is G Unit’s west coast, hungry MC! Signed to his label, Baymaac, is Big Paybacc. Also from the west side, Paybacc has a raw gritty style and killer, aggressive lyrics! I spoke to him over myspace about his plans for albums and mixtapes, whether Spider Loc’s World Wide Web album is heavy or wack and also who he rates on the west coast scene!

Big Paybacc, you’re signed to Spider Loc’s record label Baymaac, how did you link up with Spi?

My homeboy Omar Iceman Shareef took me to the Blu Room recording studios and I spit an acapella freestyle and I’ve been down with them ever since!

What’s it like recording with him? He has a great work ethic, putting mixtapes out every month of the year, does that rub off on you when you’re both in the booth?

Yeah it does! Spider is so talented and I always try to go just as hard as him if not harder when we do a song because that dude is a problem for real!

You’ve shot two videos so far, has Spider come down to support you in them?

The first video was actually shut down prematurely so it’s in fact an incomplete video so he didn’t get the chance to come through and support that project, but he’s all over my second video…

What’s the response to them been?

The response has been good, I have got a few haters but I love the attention none the less!

You’ve hopped on a lot of tunes with your fellow Baymaac artists, have you got any tunes with some outside artists planned?

I’m supposed to have a few with the likes of K-Boy, School Boy Q, Kartoon, Tony Yayo & Hell Rell!

You’re one of the many artists coming up out of the West Coast, who are you feeling that’s representing the new west?

I’m feeling G-Malone, that’s the homie right there! Besides Baymaac I don’t really listen to a lot of music, Nipsey Hussle is cool, so is 211! I like Crooked I as well!

Mixtapes are important for building buzz, and Spi’s put you on many of his, will this carry over to his album, World Wide Web? Have you heard any of the album, and are you on any of the songs?

Yes I have and I can tell you that it is one of the greatest albums in west coast history, no bullshit!!! I don’t know what is causing the hold up, but if 50 Cent happens to read this, cuz you’re tripping!

Do you plan to release any mixtapes?

2 at the same time called ‘North Hollywood Shootout’ and ‘History Of Violence’ which are hosted by DJ FLIPSIDE…

Will they be followed up by an album, or will you keep grinding on the independent, street level?

I’m also working on a debut album called ‘Tha Blue Shirt Freshman.

Do you ever want to have your own label situation, like Spi’s done with Baymaac?

Yeah of course I want my own label, but it’s still going to be Baymaac on mines fa def doe!

You dissed Lil Wayne on your Spell My Name song, are you currently involved in any other beefs?

I’ve got a few other issues but I’m not going to speak on them just yet unless I see them first, it’s all personal shit with me!

Baymaac artists all seem to be very supportive of each other, but has the label got a distribution situation yet? Are they distributed by G Unit or are you still looking for a different label to house you?

We’re still looking for somebody to distribute the label as of now!
