![]() J-Banks: First thing. Who is Mista Mista, tell us a little about yourself and what can we expected from you? Mista Mista: Mista Mista is a talented new artists with a vision to take hip hop music across it’s boundaries. You can expect him/me to be himself in all aspects of life and music, therefore no gun clapping, or drug pushing raps, just reality, atleast reality to me! J-Banks: What influences your music and your style? Mista Mista: Umm, I can definitely say Jay-Z has influenced me, his flow is retarded! The whole detroit rap scene has been a major influence from Dilla, Royce Da 5′9 and of course Eminem. They have an amazing ability to put together words, they’re wordplay and flow is unmatched by many. I absolutely love R&B music, there’s something about rapping over chords, I don’t know, I be on my smooth shit. Call me the Jon B of rap lol. J-Banks: How is the Rhode Island music scene? Mista Mista: The music scene is cool because its very diverse. You have your hood(Dipset, 50 Cent) rappers, your positive/ conscious rappers and then you have the kids who still hang onto the boom bap era, HARD! But its dope because we cover all bases, so if you come to Providence and you want to attend a hip hop show, chances are they’ll be something you can get into. J-Banks: Top 5 Dead Or Alive, regardless of genre? Mista Mista: Rap (No Particular Order, I’m bad at that) 1.Jay-Z 2. B.I.G. 3. Andre 3000 4. Eminem 5. Nas J-Banks: Name some artists you would love to collabo with in the future? Mista Mista: I’d really like to work with James Morrison, I’m a big fan of his work. It would be nice to combine to two worlds, see what we can come up with. Pharrel is one of my favorite producers, I’d love to work with him. And considering what Dr. Dre has accomplished with so many different artists, in different genres as well, I’d love to see what sound he would create for me. J-Banks: what’s going on with you as far as current projects go? Mista Mista: Right now I am currently working on my debut release titled “No Greater Love” with producer/ singer/ songwriter LJC. This is my baby, we’re taking our time crafting a sound that’s nobody in rap has attempted yet. It’s still rooted in hip hop but there’s going to be a lot of outside elements, really different instrumentation. J-Banks: Everyone seems to be asking this question, so I might as well also. What are the top 5 girls you would smash? Mista Mista: I like older women someitmes lol. I’d have to say definitely without a doubt Hallie Berry, Stacy Dash…ummm there’s something about Scarlett Johansson, she’s does it for me. Also, Jessica Biel, her body is sick! And last but definitely not least, Lauren London. J-Banks: Off Subject, where do chill at alot/eat at? Mista Mista: At this point in my life I’ve almost become a home body, wack I know but I get a lot accomplished at home. The internet is a wonderful thing. Although I will say I like to go out to bars occasionally and play pool. I don’t do the club thing. It’s just not for me, every time I go I realize why I never go in the first place. As far as food. I eat all over the place, I got this dope Mexican restaurant right around the corner from my house called ‘El Rancho Grande’ thats my spot. I also like Indian food and sushi. The best sushi spot to go to in RI is Uncle Sushi on Reservoir Ave…they take care of you. J-Banks: Off subject, What are your favorites tv shows/movies? Mista Mista: First 48 is my shit, actually A&E got a lot of dope shows at night. For movies, I’d have to say one of my favorite movies is Crash, it dealt with a lot of social issues as well as being satisfying as a film. The way they tied in multiple stories and connected them by the end of the film was dope. J-Banks: It a new Year, what are your goals for 09? Mista Mista: I just want to establish myself as an artists who has something to offer. J-Banks: What does Hip Hop mean to you? Mista Mista: Hip hop is a form of expression. It’s a lifestyle and a preference. So hip hop to me is probably different from hip hop to you, but nonetheless still Hip Hop. J-Banks: Who your favorite hiphop blog site (hint Jbanksblog.com) Mista Mista: First and foremost shouts to Jbanksblog.com and str8hphop.com for the interview. I really visit the same ones all the time for me its Nahright.com, 2dopeboyz.com, OnSmash.com, and WorldstarHipHop.com J-Banks: Any last words, shoutouts before we leave? Mista Mista: Peace and much love to all the supporters.
