RTNY: What up Murda, how you feeling?
Murda: I’m feeling good baby! I didn’t get to smoke a blunt yet, but other than that, everything’s good.

RTNY: Now that the fans know you’re doing alright, let them know what to expect from you from a music standpoint.
Murda: I’m dropping a mixtape next week - Uncle Murda aka Hard To Kill, try harder muthafuckas! Other than that, everything’s good, a little bullet in my head but I’m lucky the kids who was shootin was scared. It might have been the police, but if it wasn’t the police, then it was some kids that was scared cause they was backing up and shit, they was shooting with they eyes closed looking the other way. They trying to have shootouts but they ain’t trying to shoot shit.

RTNY: Damn, you’re already back in the studio?
Murda: Come on, it didn’t do nothing. The bullet is still in my head but the doctor said it’s going to fall out in two or three weeks.

RTNY: I can see it’s on your mind, so let’s go ahead and talk about that night…
Murda: Well you know everything that happened, it was some bitch ass ni$$as shootin at me the other day. They guns was pointing at me put they was looking the other way. That’s really it. I just got hit with a lucky bullet in my head. It was some bullshit, they had cheap bullets, I’m lucky.

RTNY: So, do you think it was some fueled beef, or do you think it was just a random act?
Murda: I gotta a bunch of beefs. I’m not surprised something like this happened to me, muthafuckas that know me ain’t surprised because they know the lifestyle I live, not saying it was good for me, but hey, to some people I probably deserved this shit. You know what I’m sayin…

RTNY: Yeah.

Murda: And I know the game I’m in, so it’s not like I’m thinking: Oh, man, I didn’t even deserve this, I’m a good kid. No, I know the things I did, what goes around comes around. But I just ain’t die, let them muthafuckas know that! Other than that, I’m good money!

RTNY: So, what do you have to say those people on the internet saying this is a publicity stunt?
Murda: Let them know that a bullet is really in my head! I’m not lying like Suge. I’m not trying to be like Pac or 50 Cent. I really got shot in the head, the bullet is still in there and that’s that! I wasn’t just sittin there and letting muthafuckas shoot me, I was doing my best to stop what was happening but unfortunately I got a bullshit bullet in my head and I’m good. But it ain’t a muthafuckin publicity stunt. Hip-hop ain’t that muthafuckin serious. Like I ain’t trying to get killed for this shit!

RTNY: Right. Being so close to death, how did it change your life?
Murda: It made me smoke a little bit more weed and the doctor said stay sexually active so the bullet can fall out. So really its just making me get a little bit more higher and making me fuck more. I’m like an animal!

RTNY: (Laughing) Alright, how did it change your approach to music then?
Murda: Oh, everything is cool I ain’t missing a beat! Everything, my lyrics, like I told you I just laid down a song talking about the incident, this is a world premiere. We probably going to drop that shit Monday or Tuesday. I’m feeling good, I’m feeling the same. Only thing that’s different is when I walk through the metal detectors I might not have a gun, but the shit still might peep off. At least for the next two or three weeks.

RTNY: Growing up in East New York, did that hold mold you as an artist also?
Murda: Hell yeah that shit molded me! East New York is the like the murder capital, so growing up there prepared me for a lot of bullshit that I’ve went through. And it’s so grimey, I’ve been shot at so many times there, that’s why it prepared me for what just transpired the other day. So, hell yeah I thank and I love East New York…(shouts) East-New-York!

RTNY: (Laughing)

Murda: (Laughing) It prepared me for the bullet in my head got damn it.




RTNY: So who are some of your influences in music, I know you’re signed to Roc-A-Fella, is Jay one of your influences?
Murda: Oh, definitely. Jay-Z always been an influence and inspired me to do this. As well as rest in peace – 2PAC, rest in peace B.I.G. Those are some of my influences as far as doing music.

RTNY: How are things over at Roc-A-Fella?
Murda: Everything’s good. I just spoke to Jay-Z the other day. Everything is good money.

RTNY: I was going to ask you that. How’s your relationship with the other Roc Boys, did they call you after everything happened?
Murda: Yeah, yeah, yeah…Bleek is my muthafuckin boy. He called me asap, I fucks with the Roc!

RTNY: Where’s that Roc-A-Fella chain at?
Murda: We gon’ make that real special. The next time you see me I might have it on or I might be waiting until my first video and all that when you see me and Jay together or maybe me and Jay together at a show or something. We making it real special, I almost got killed, this calls for a special event.

RTNY: What are you thoughts on Jay leaving Def Jam, where does that leave you?
Murda: I’m good money.

RTNY: So, it’s not going to hamper you in anyway?
Murda: One thing I learned about Jay-Z is that he’s good at business. So, whatever decision he ends up making at the end of the day…he told me don’t even worry about that shit, just do what I do-I’m good money. I’m with the richest ni$$a in hip-hop and I’m like the livest ni$$a in hip-hop, so I’m good money. (Laughing)

RTNY: Let everybody know about that Roc-A-Fella debut album.
Murda: We’re definitely working on the album; the album is damn near done. We’re trying to drop around early spring. My music is a like a movie - it ain’t like these other dudes music. I feel other ni$$as just try to put the best words together to make it sound right or come up with a dance, or something that’s for the club. My shit is more like reality music, shit that’s going on in the hood. But I put that shit down in a movie form, so when you listen to my music, you can damn near see it too. That’s why we’re making a movie with my album, cause I give you real visuals. I detail my shit, when you listen to my shit, you gon’ actually think you’re in the projects about to get shot at.

RTNY: There was alot of talk that you were going to get shelved.
Murda: I put in to much work for that to happen to me. I put in to much work for that shit. They know I go to hard, Flex bombing my muthafuckin freestyles on his show at 7:00. My bars are to big to get shelved.

RTNY: Feel that.
Murda: Fuck that shelf shit, Uncle Murda is on fire!

*Uncle Murda’s manager comes in on the line*

Manager: And his support team is too strong for that, management is way too strong.

Murda: We got Manhood, we strong over here! GMG, Roc-A-Fella, we deep man!

RTNY: What about your GMG crew, who do you have coming out from your camp?
Murda: Oh, you know GMG good. We got a couple of ni$$as in the camp…we got my boy IC, we got the R&B sensation (he ain’t GMG but he is GMG) Razor, even though he’s with Manhood, that’s still part of the GMG family. And we got a strong roster, we looking good.

RTNY: When can we be expecting something from these guys, this year?
Murda: It’s our year, it’s ’08 – I almost died. (Laughing) So we gon turn it up!

RTNY: So, what else besides the mixtapes and album do you having coming out that we should be watching out for?
Murda: We got that mixtape coming out, then we got the album, and know we about to start doing movies. I’ve been gettin a bunch of calls; HBO hit me up already, Showtime, everybody got damn it. I told ni$$as this shit is going to be realer than The Wire- I got a story to tell.

RTNY: I wanted to ask you, how did you jump on that track with Fab and Jay-Z?

*Uncle Murda’s manager comes in on the line*

Manager: That wasn’t the remix, that was the official song. Jay-Z and Fabolous called him to the studio. That was a request, that was Brooklyn’s best.

Murda: That’s the Faboulous, Jay-Z and Uncle Murda original. (Laughing)

Murda: When that song came out the first week, I probably had about a hundred new bitches suck my dick! And that probably was…18 or 19 a day. (Laughing)

RTNY: (Laughing) Ya’ll wildin’…

RTNY: So I guess you got a lot more friends when that song came out?
Murda: (Laughing), I definitely got a lot more friends when that song came out.




RTNY: Alright, I’m about to read some comments people left on our website, I don’t know if you checked it out…
Murda: Nah, I ain’t check it out.

RTNY: I’m just going to read some of the comments and you just give me your thoughts on them.

Murda: Alright.

RTNY: Cheezy wanted to know if you had any problems with Dipset, cause you signed with the Roc now?

Murda: (Laughing) Nah, I ain’t got no problems with Dipset.

RTNY: Hip-Hop left a comment and wanted to know if you think that because of the “thug image” rappers portray, do you think it’s the reason you get tested in the streets.? Do you think you’re going to change?
Murda: Hell no, I’m going to be who I be. If I would change right now, other than the ni$$a I valleyed back in the day will come see and really push my shit back. I’m happy like I am because I was prepared for what came my way, when ni$$as tried to kill me I handled my business and made sure them ni$$as get up outta here. So, hell no I’m not going to change who I am, I can’t change that, I already put myself in that situation.

RTNY: Is there anything else you’d like to clear up before we end?

*Uncle Murda’s manager comes in on the line*

Manager: For all those people waiting and worried about Jay-Z leaving Def Jam…he left Def Jam as an executive. His record company is still there. He has other ventures in other places, he’s good money anywhere, L.A. Reid personally to him he was good money. So that’s the least of his worries.

Murda: L.A. Reid is my ni$$a, we was partying together.

RTNY: Let the fans know where to get in contact with you and where they can get your music.

Murda: We good, I believe we cleared up everything and we gon get you some music. Tell everybody that’s reading this that Uncle Murda said fuck the police and they still under GMG investigation.

RTNY: You think the New York Police Dept. had something to do with it?
Murda: Let’s just say I don’t know, I’m a little confused. But I know what’s going on.

RTNY: What made you think that?
Murda: Let’s just say I know what’s going on and I know who don’t like me. Other than that it’s under a Manhood–GMG-Violator-Roc-A-Fella–Team Invasion investigation.

RTNY: That’s what is.

RTNY: Well, we appreciate everything, we hope to hear from you.
Murda: Alright, boy.

Manager: Let them know that album is coming this summer.

RTNY: Summer ’08 it’s coming, is that a promise or what?

Manager: That’s a promise.

Murda: Tell them we shutting down the spring and it’s looking like the summer.

RTNY: That’s what it is.

Murda: And we ain’t riding in no fucking Hummers either…we out!

RTNY: Alright, man
