Ray Cash C.O.D. Cash On Delivery June 27th
Interview date: June 13th 2006 By: Jeff [HH411.com] HH411.com: Introduce yourself give a background about yourself?Ray Cash: Ya boy Ray Cash, recognize real click general. East side of Cleveland. Sony Urban might now me from Sex Appeal, Bumpin my music - C.O.D. June 27th. HH411.com: How did you get started? Ray Cash: I did it like anybody else, I’m a music fiend (laughs). Growing up I was listening to everything, I had to be about 21 when I started taking it serious. When I was with my people from Cleveland to Philly - Philly to Harlem for 2 years. Just recording just to see what happens. My people was in Atlanta took it over to A&R of Sony and let them hear the music and they was really fucking with it and it was a wrap from there and now we are here. HH411: There are some articles saying that you never wanted to be a rapper, what inspired you to be one? Ray Cash: What really made me think I could probably go in front of people and rap was the Hard Knock Life Tour. Seeing Jay perform up on stage and how people react to him . Being himself on stage, especially without 35 motherfuckers up on stage with him. If people just react to how he being himself hit after hit and it don’t have to be a radio song that’s the type of shit real fans want to hear. From a nigga like that and to see the power it was. I love representing my city like that If I could one day and I had the opportunity I would take full advantage of it. HH411.com: Let’s talk about your album, the official release date is June 27th right? Ray Cash: Yeah, yeah! HH411.com: Tell us about who is producing the album? Ray Cash: I wanted to keep it light weight local, so I got 3 producers from the crib that did a couple joints from me, my man Knoxxxx , Rick Rock, my man Rockwilder gave me, Chad West from Philly, Roca Fella shit. I didn’t want to put a bunch of big name producers, lot of people do that to hype up the album and really don't. Keep it to the people that makes sounds, basic and low keyed. HH411.com: What’s guest artists do you have on it? Ray Cash: Beanie Sigel, Bun B and Scarface. HH411.com: What’s your favorite track?Ray Cash: My favorite track is probably the first track, Payback. It was like my way of saying niggas thought Cleveland was shit, about Cleveland and how a nigga can rap like this. Everytime I say I’m from Cleveland , they so damn surprised. I like coming at niggas like we are here, so that’s my favorite track. HH411.com: You got a track on there called F*** America, tell us what made you want to write that song? Ray Cash: It takes advantage of what rap is, rap is what you can say what they people can't say, freedom of speech, I can say that, cuz that’s how people feel. If people were to say that they would lose their job but I can take advantage of it. I was speaking for the people I know what its about. I know what it’s about how a nigga not to be able to find a job and be fucked up. I felt like I had to speak for them, it seemed like we might have to do it again. HH411.com: You just went on tour with Mobb Deep, how did that go? Ray Cash: Ah man that went real good we got a lot of love on tour, we took it to a lot of places where they were feeling me and the movement. I will probably be out there in the spot like Seattle, Portland all throughout the west coast we had a good time man. HH411.com: Did you know Mobb Deep before the tour? Ray Cash: Nah no it was the first time we meeting and shit but we kicked it. 2 cool dudes right there, going on tour with them was real cool. That was my first tour, first major tour. So seeing how they move, niggas that been around, put me around some niggas that can teach me something. HH411.com: What was your favorite city to tour? Ray Cash: Umm….L.A. was crazy. L.A. probably the funniest show we had on the road. HH411.com: Ya, I actually made it out to the Denver show when you came out last and you got a strong vibe. Ray Cash: Ya ya ya a lot of people knew me in Denver. That Denver shit was fucked up. I was mad cuz we couldn’t go out, miscommunication but they said it was still cool for me to go on stage so that was a good look right there. HH411.com: What you think of Mobb Deep signing up with G-Unit? Ray Cash: I mean it’s cool, it’s clean, everybody respects them they been doing their thing. I love seeing P and Havoc shine like that. HH411.com: How do you feel about Hip Hop right now? Ray Cash: It is what it is, some people saying it’s fucked up. But its not fucked up it’s some of the niggas that are in it are fucked up. As far as me im comfortable, People like my swagger, my flow, like me for me so I’m confortable man. HH411.com: What albums you like and listen to? Ray Cash: Listening to a lot of old school shit, Scarface Untouchables, Jay Z mixtape, been listening to Young Joc that’s my nigga. Fucking with Rick Ross right now, the cannon shit Lil Wayne. Freeway, ya waiting on Freeway that’s my nigga, Free's shit is hot, waiting on a lot of albums. Waiting to really listen to their albums yamean. HH411.com: Are you working on any projects? Going on tour? Ray Cash: Oh ya we going to put a little tour together with myself keep the movement. Trying to keep the movement anywhere and make the money so look for me. You can find me anywhere and everywhere man. HH411.com: Any last words on where the fans can find you at? Ray Cash: and myspace url is C.O.D. June 27th they are saying it’s good calling it’s a lightweight classic so fuck with me. Ray Cash C.O.D. Cash On Delivery Album Review Cleveland, Ohio just gained more respect for their hip hop music. Hip Hop artist Ray Cash is dropping his new album "C.O.D" on June 27th. It is a "classic light weight" album, as Ray Cash would put it. Ray Cash's flow is smooth and his swagger is on top of the game. "Payback" is one of my personal favorite tracks on this album for showing his own city love. "Bumpin' My Music featuring Scarface" is another classic joint on this album that could get a whole crowd or dance floor hyped up. "Smokin' & Leanin'" is the type of joint to kick back with the homies and smoke to. "Sex Appeal (Pimp In My Own Mind)" is a hot track for your ride when your on your way to the club to meet some hunnies. "Ray we mad at you" is a quote you might hear often because of Ray Cash's success with this album. "Better Way featuring Beanie Sigel" is a hot track with B Sigel giving you a visual story line with Ray's deep thoughts. "F*** Amerikkka" has strong lyrics on how the system of the United States is corrupted. If you are a UGK fan you will really like "P.A.N. featuring Bun B and Pastor Troy" and I put that on Pimp C. Overall Ray Cash is HH411 approved and recommended. Make sure you help support Ray Cash on June 27th! Official link with shout out:
