DJ Whoo Kid & Young Buck - The Clean Up Man
The Pressure’s on but will G-Unit crack? It will not if the Nashville native rapper Young Buck has anything to say about it. Lets face it, in the last few years since G-Unit came out and dominated Hip-Hop their presence hasn’t been as strong. Some would dare say that the Unit’s reign is over. Yet the final say on whether G-Unit’s in good shape may lie on the shoulders of their most “beloved” solider. They say controversy sells, well Young Buck has enough surrounding him that he should be going multi-platinum. He risked his freedom for defending the honor of the good doctor by stabbing an attacker at the Vibe Awards a few years ago. Also he’s been embroiled in an heated exchange with Cash Money star Lil Wayne over the less than manly kissing between said rapper and boss Baby. Buck’s been in a series of events like Limany Snickets. Even becoming a more exciting factor during this year NBA All-Star break than the game it’s self by taking over a P.Diddy event and dissing G-Unit arch-enemy The Game (who happen to be in the building). While Buck (who is no stranger to being in the midst of controversy i.e. the infamous Ludacris/ T.I. exchange on “Stomp”) isn’t one to shy away from war, it’s also not his main appeal. See unlike many other rappers in this day and age he can actually rap and make good music. Which in part is a huge reason his 2004 debut “Straight Outta Cashville” did so well. Now he’s back with an album that’s been getting pushed back further than DJ Clue’s hairline. So as an appetizer Buck has linked up again with The Haitian Barry White (DJ Whoo Kid) to clean things up. Coming out of the gate Buck holds it down on “Daydream” taking Lupe Fiasco’s single’s instrumental. It’s almost funny how he sounds right at home on the soulful sample spitting “It’s like everybody's mad in Hip-Hop/ it’s sad they get hot/ and go broke cause they scared to grab that zip-lock” The fresh faced producer that scored hit’s with Fergie and Rich Boy Polow da Don hooks Buck up with a heater for the official single “Get Buck”. The track serves as an F you to the DJ’s that wanted to ban his music after an altercation at an event in Atlanta “They tryin’ to ban a ni**a man (It’s okay) I bounce back watch me do my thing (It’s okay)”. Buck’s jammed pack this mixtape with pure crack. Buck cuts loose and rides out on “It Is What It Is” snatching the “Living In Pain” joint from Biggie Duets “thuggin’ in public/ bustin’ like fuck it/ they say I’m the reason my neighborhood is corrupted/ because I came form nothin’, wouldn’t change for nothin’/ started swingin’ my choppa ni**a just aim for somthin’/ I need a cup of Grey Goose/ cause the renegades loose/ leave your brain’s in the coup when the twenty gauge shoots”. Now Buck sounds like he sends subliminal shots at former homie Juvenile on “Fuck Ya’ll” as he spits “fuck you rap ni**as/ Back That Ass Up/ your money’s Slow Motion ni**a, get your Cash up/ these haters is stravin’/ beggin’ and borrowin’/ wanna hate on the Unit ni**a we to busy ballin’” and “I got somethin’ that’ll make it hotter than 400 degrees/ so quit hating on me and come get some of these keys” Over an smooth sample of Marvin Gaye, Buck gives an more introspective vibe on “This Ain’t Livin’” cautioning potential snitches saying “you ni**as living dead when you working for the Feds/ get a little bread and get popped in the head/ a white T-Shirt with your face on the front/ nobody at the church, that was fake what you done”. There is no shortness of hot music. From the defiant anti-police ode “Dead Or Alive” to the warning to foes to rethink there desire for beef on “Let It Go” Young Buck supplies the fiends with what they need. Letting the whole Hip-Hop world know that The South is still here and this is what real South music sounds like. The pressure is on and he’s about to Buck The World both middle fingers waving in the air. Once again it’s on and Buck is ready., G-Unit is looking like there in good hands. source: nobodysmiling.com |

The Clean Up Man was a dope ass mixtape. I was hopeing for 1 more mixtape before his album dropped, maybe a Drama tape, but that probably aint gonna happen. Buck The World is gonna be so hot, shit from what has been put out, I Know You Want Me, Haters, Get Buck, Do It Myself, Hold On, 4 Kings, all those tracks are tight as fuck. But on this tape, who is Sosa? I thought it was Hi C, D Tay, Lil Murder and C Bo. So who is Sosa? Anyway, this tape is hot, cant wait for Buck The World. Cop that shit March 27.
