It's easy to make lyrical music...just add some multis, internaly rhyming, etc....and you're lyrical....

Now making catchy music issss way harder to do....

it is a lil harder to be catchy

cuz alot of good rappers try to go the catchy route and fail miserably

where as alot of 'catchy, commercial' rappers dont try to be lyrical...they subject matter causes for simplicity but when they choose to be a lil more serious it comes off pretty good

like I said, anyone can write, but few can deliver those raps well, which is what matters, seeing as most songs that are considered 'catchy' are really just annoying, but they get burned into people's brains because they are purposely written in the most simplistic way possible

Dizze has a point, it is hard to make catchy music if you don't make catchy music. Catchy music is for the casual music fan who doesn't really delve into their musicality, and rather goes for anything that is remotely ear-catching. But if you really go deep and think about it, the "catchy" artist usually doesn't possess the longevity and innovation to last in the world of music according to the essense.

I wouldn't go as far as to say catchy music is better than lyrical music, a combination of the two works best IMO, but in this day and age, it seems to be the thing to do, to be catchy.
