Nyce Da Future Talks State Of Mobb Deep, Busy 2009

February 4th, 2009 |

Known for his affiliations with Infamous Music and G-Unit, Queens rapper Nyce Da Future spoke with HipHopDX late last month about what he says, will be his busiest year.
Before discussing a year billed for two albums and at least two mixtapes, the rapper spoke about his Mobb Deep brethren, at a time when Prodigy's incarceration has forced the outfit to use acts like Big Noyd, Un Pacino and Nyce to carry the name. "It's the Mobb forever. It's never gonna change. [Prodigy] is my brother, Havoc is my other brother; it's never gonna change. But it's really a step back now that P is incarcerated. It's really hard, 'cause he was the motivator. He was the one that kept the wheels turning. Right now, it's at a little halt. He's not around to keep the wheels turning, but I'ma always be there to pick up the slack. That's what I'm doing right now."
With grumblings that Nyce will be appearing on Havoc's upcoming 2009 album, the rapper affirmed, "We did a lot of records together." A strong recording ethic has been instrumental to the rapper's potential to win. "I'm always on the grind; I'm always making records. It never ends."

Transitioning from mixtapes to albums means a lot to Nyce. "This year, I'm gonna go hard. Dudes reward me. They say, 'This my dude right here. He work hard. He put work in. Yeah, we got him.' I just look at it like job well done."

In 2009, Nyce's work will begin with his group album titled Road To Glory on their own Shake 'Em Down Music imprint. "That's the first official release that we're about to put out, in '09," said Nyce of his team including Philthy, BSerious, Strike Sinatra and Eyes Slow

The group effort will be a lead into Nyce's official retail debut Top Dollar. The single for said release is "Ski Mask Music," produced by Mike Knox. Sooner, fans can enjoy mixtapes, including Hood Certified.
