08/03/07 - Dirty South: Lil Wayne: The Hottest in the Game?

Aight yall the blogs are starting up again, so im gonna get mine rolling again with the the most recent stuff ive been seeing, im sure most of you have heard about this so heres my view on it. Look out for more coming I've got lots to write about.

Weezy F. Baby was recently crowned the “Hottest MC In The Game” by the MTV brain trust. This is obviously not for a full body of work but more for work put in this past year. Because of the basis it’s hard to argue with this. Wayne has dropped an inhuman amount of material the past year, culminating in the Drought 3.

He has appeared on countless singles and remixes and pretty much stole the show on every one of them. 50 Cent chimed in calling Wayne a ‘whore’ for working with so many artists, saying that it takes away the value of your name on a track when you’re pretty much featured everywhere, which I agree with. There are rumours Lil Wayne will respond to that comment with a diss, but that will pretty much just boost the hype for Curtis and since Wayne doesn’t have an album coming out until ‘08 there’s not really a point. Marketing-wise anyway. So let’s just hope it doesn’t happen, beef is wack.

His self-appointed ‘Best Rapper Alive’ moniker goes a little to far for me. I’m a fan and he’s definitely good and his energy is great, but the best rapper alive? Nowhere near. But as a rapper you need to feel like you’re the best, otherwise what are you doing? If you don’t feel like you’re the best you need to up your game.

If the hottest in the game means the one who’s grinding the most, then how can Wayne not be named? It’s ultimately up to opinion who the hottest is, but for now it seems like we’ll be getting a steady supply of the Birdman JR. for quite some time. All we can hope is that he doesn’t burn himself out for Tha Carter 3, but the way he’s going it doesn’t seem likely.

Editor's Note: Leave some comments on if you agree with Wayne being voted hottest in the game and if not who do you think should have been #1? Personally I think it should have been T.I., share your thoughts.

I think he is doing that so he can stay revelent in hiphop, and to get some money off course, even thou he the self proclamed CEO of cash money records and even thou there are never any artists releasing album unlike Lil Wayne and Baby, and even thou most of the rappers on Cash money left the label, lol but Some of Lil Wayne songs are hot thou I cant front on that. But alot are wack too. Yall cant front on that. Like I was trieding to say in my other blog. If he did record a diss, and if the rumors are true and that he doesnt want it released. being the hottest mc i have to agree with that he's been the most consistent rapper putting out good songs/mixtapes/hot features...but as far as skills he's not the best rapper out....the mtv thing was who's the HOTTEST, not the most skillful rapper, so to me they got it right...for those people sayin 50 should be # 1, if 50 is so hot why did it take him 5 singles to get in the top 25 in the billboard, sorry hate it or love 50 is not that hot right now....wayne is doing is thing i give the dude props, but that doesn't mean he's the best rapper out

i agree he isnt the most skillful rapper, but he sure is the hardest rapper out there at the moment, his grind is unlike most of the rappers in the south, or hip hop period, So Yh he deserves the #1 spot. He murks MOST songs/remixes hes on, but his voice can get tiresome when he is on every new tune droppin. Some people sayin g-unit emcees shud be in top 10, i disagree. 50's new album is soundin shitty, only tune of his is thats hot is dat I Get Money joint, yayo is WACk full stop! his flow & lyrics are weak, Buck is a good rapper but his album disappointed me . . Alot. T.I's Album didn't disappoint, but he rarely leaked any material to keep us entertained so #2 suits him perfectly. Anyways good thread homie, im out..peace
