Need Help W/My Mac

ok so i want to get a new ipod but all the new ipods nowadays require mac os x v10.4.10 or later and itunes 8 or later. but my mac is only os x v10.3.9. how do i update my computer so that i have the requirements that i need to put music on a new ipod? i don't want to go buy one unless i know i can put music on it. someone please help.

u can burn osx 10.4 tiger onto a dvd dosnt matter witch version cause u can easily update after
