Long-Term Problem with Windows Media Player

Ok, as you all know, in order to play media files u need to doucble-click the file and it will open up with the player.

My problem is, that somewhere around 1.5 yrs ago, this option suddenly stopped - i double-click a media file, and it doesn't open up. the only way to play media files for me is to click the right mouse button and choose "open with...windows media player", or open the the player itself, and then double-click a media file, and it will open up.

I'm kinda annoyed by this shit, i don't even know what the problem is. i tried clicking, changing, searching...didn't help.

Help???

right click it and pick "Open with" and choose windows media player. after u picked windows media player...right next to the "Browse" button you should see "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file." put a check mark there and you wont have to do it anymore. should automatically open with windows media player everytime.

it didn't help. i said that i tried clicking changing stuff, and it just DOESN'T WORK.

It should, Make sure u have that checked. Otherwise Idk...redownload windows media player.

Or just get Winamp or realplayer
