Artest to L.A., Ariza to Houston

It's a good trade if you ask me. Ariza was getting a little too greedy there and it's better this way since we save more money towards a more experienced player. Defensively this is a huge upgrade... although Ariza was a damn well defensive machine.

Artest has more offensive potential though... and ya'll forgetting the fact that Ariza grew as a player here with the Lakers. Rockets' playbook is totally different and he doesn't have a Kobe Bryant next to him feeding him the ball at all the open opportunities. They have no McGrady and no Yao, who else is gonna put on the offensive spark for him to score? He's a catch and shoot type player from long range.

Artest is a supreme defender but he shoots like Larry Hughes and is a chucker.

I'm glad he didn't come to the cavs, high ego players like him, AI, Marbury, TO, etc etc, they don't help teams win rings, they're nothing but a inconsistant liability with their uncontrollable emotions. Causing unnecessary fouls late in games, your teams in the penalty for 8 min in the fourth due to this one guy, T'd up while being down by two w/40 sec to play. It's this shit that's gunna make me lul when I see him meltdown LA this year in crucial moments

I'm comparing ego's not history, players like them don't put teams over the top. It's a 50/50 toss up if Artest makes LA better. You don't know how he'll fit on LA, with the combination of learning the whole triangle and Artests selfishness. Artest has a low IQ? How ignorant is that statement? He went to college for three years, a dumb ass couldn't do that. Just because someone talks ghetto don't mean they're stupid. Dude is from Queens Bridge, same place as Mobb Deep, Nas, Cormega, etc.

He has temper problems, but he has never been a bad teammate really. Everyone that has played with him will probably tell you that. Don't you remember Dennis Rodman on the Bulls? He had that same attitude. He's not going to be chucking up 40 footers in crunch time, he "knows" it isn't his team. He'll be benched by Phil in a hurry, kind of like Gary Payton back in 04.

He was interviewed on ESPN just yesterday and he was talking about just playing a role that was needed. He's not playing for the money anymore, instead its for a title.

Unlike the rest of the student community who were accepted based on grades/SAT/ACT scores in HS. Division 1 schools will breeze all their athletes through, teachers paid via alum to curve their grades and throw them in a simple degree program (Campground Management, Sports safety).

are you aware that the "high" GPA score to be elligible for sports at most D1 colleges is a 1.5? Just above D+

Private schools Harvard, Stanford, etc is another story

But honestly I'm much more amped about Artest's defensive capabilities and his power. His offense is pretty damn good too when he sticks to his A game, but we got LO, Gasol, and KB24 for the offensive spark.

I think he'll be fine, PJ knows how to deal with emotional, temperamental players.. and Artest knows Kobe, you fuck with Kobe's gameplan.. you fuck with the whole team's. Dude will know his place, I'm sure of it. Season games he might end up getting emotional, but come post-season, I think he'll be grounded with the game plan. But I do agree though that he's gonna bring a different dimension to the Lakers that they don't have which is unpredictable behavior and shot selection.
