Update Login to HHBoard using Facebook Connect

Facebook Connect is a way to interact a website with Facebook. Seeing how I am a big Facebook user I wanted to add this to HHBoard for all you Facebook users.

To get started do the following (if you do not use facebook don't even worry about doing any of this! - Current Facebook users will really enjoy this!)

1) Log out of your hhboard account.
2) After logging out goto: http://www.hhboard.com, you should now see a new image which looks like this:

3) After clicking that image, login using your facebook account information. After successfully logging in follow the onscreen instructions. If you already have a hhboard account you can sync that account up to your facebook account, be sure to look for that link, otherwise create your new hhboard account. If you already have a hhboard account it will have you login so go ahead and do so. After you do all that your hhboard account should be synced with Facebook.

When you post articles on hhboard you can post them also on Facebook. When you get a new private message you will get a notification on facebook. There is more features with this that will come out, if you do have a facebook account please use it!

Leave any questions etc here.

UPDATE: 1/4/09 - There was a bug where notifications were being sent to the wrong people, this should now be fixed.

Benefits of Facebook Connect

* Users can simply login with their Facebook account without going through the registration process.
* Increase user interaction and your traffic through Facebook notifications and news-feeds!

Features
Facebook users will be able to receive Facebook notifications when:

* There is a reply to their thread or a thread that they're subscribing to
* They receive a new PM

News-Feed will be published on to the user's wall when the user:

* Logs in for the first time
* Replies to a thread
* Creates a new thread

Fetch user data from Facebook
Fetch data like name, location, profile picture and use it on your forums!

Automatically befriend user's friends
If any of the user's friends are also registered on the forum, they will automatically be friends!

it only gives notifications for subscriptions that you choose to subscribe to. So say you subscribe to this thread everytime someone responds it will notify you in facebook. you can remove them by going to usercp. It will give you the option to post the replies and new posts you do on facebook. You can choose never to post on facebook as well.
