Over time, you could say certain rappers had a lot of influence, but that's a given. Anybody can have influence on people if the trend is popular; however, in the last ten years, Jay-Z has been the most influential. He had everybody rocking a two way pager, switched the ice game up to platinum. Everybody can front like he didn't make Cristal popular. Then as he got older had everybody rocking the "button-ups", myself included. Plus, he made every rapper go out and get a Maybach. Now he told everybody to stop drinking Cristal and they did.

most influential artist in hip hop? i would say dr dre - not only successful as a rapper but as a hip hop producer and executive. he has had a major influence on ice cube, 2pac, snoop, eminem and 50 cent. (as well as timbo, scott storch etc)

well in my opinion 2pac and big dont count on this list because they are dead.
nas despite being a talented rapper has not really had a major influence on hip hop.
lil wayne shouldnt be anywhere near the list.
50 cent has had a major influence on a lot of people with his hooks and the way he took over the mixtape game.
the only people that really challenge dre are eminem and jay z in my opinion.
i voted for eminem as he has allowed hip hop to really get noticed around the world and the mainstream in america. plus he had a major influence on 50 cent
